CfP: Workshop XR in Games at ACM IMX 2021
CALL FOR PAPERS
Workshop XR in Games - How to make a better game experience
in conjunction with the ACM International Conference on Interactive Media Experiences (IMX)
https://estebanclua.wixsite.com/workshopxringames
Extended Reality (VR, AR and MR) is becoming an important and relevant field in digital entertainment, thanks to the high immersion possibilities achieved through it. These experiences combine visible, acoustic and haptic senses in such a way that users can truly be moved to an alternative reality. However, there are many challenges and limitations coming from both technological and game design aspects. Cybersickness, space orientation, interaction design, graphical response, tracking, streaming data and collaboration issues are some of the relevant topics that must be investigated and developed in the next few years, in order to increase and popularize the field. This workshop aims to bring researchers and practitioners together to discuss and present these challenges, presenting ongoing solutions, possibilities and strategies to improve the player experience. We intend to discuss innovative implementation techniques that might affect player experiences in XR environments.
The full day workshop will bring interesting talks related to industry and academic well succeeded installations.
We will also be accepting short paper contributions, which will be presented at the event.
Topics of interest include:
• Extended Reality Games
• Cybersickness
• Interaction Design for XR Experiences and Games
• Tracking and Motion in XR
• Serious games applications for XR (health, wellbeing, training, learning, etc.)
• Pervasiveness and Ubiquity for XR Experiences
• Alternative Entertainment Environments
• 360 videos and XR Environments
• Game analytics and novel visualizations of player experiences
